Fundraiser for Baby Klaus

Baby Klaus is a 4-month old kitten who is in our care and is recovering from an urgent operation for a cleft palate. This is where the tissues in the roof of the mouth have failed to close properly during early development. This is a serious condition and baby Klaus may not have survived without surgery.  We have launched a fundraiser to assist with his very expensive surgery and medical care, so if you can spare anything, please consider donating.

Please donate to the fundraiser here: https://gofund.me/3f8c76a0

Read more about Klaus below.

Klaus is a an extremely gentle, fragile, adorable, friendly boy and we love him to bits.   He is now recovering and starting to eat special food supplied by the surgeon and he is even beginning to play a little. It is possible that a second surgery may be needed as he grows but not necessarily.

How did this vulnerable kitten end up in our care? The owner obtained him from a ‘breeder’ who told her that Klaus was the runt of the litter.  When a vet checked him, it was found that he had a cleft palate requiring surgery and the owner realised that she could not afford it. We quickly accepted Klaus into foster care, got him to see a vet who prescribed anti-biotics as he had an infection (common in cleft palate cases) and arranged for an urgent operation.

We are asking for donations towards Klaus’ surgery and medical care – please help if you can, however, small as we rely solely on donations for the care of our cats.

THANK YOU.
