Rehoming

We always welcome enquiries about the cats and kittens in the care of our dedicated fosterers. For each cat or kitten, we follow a rehoming process as summarised below.

Rehoming Process

Register you interest by filling in an adoption form.

The homing coordinator will contact you to discuss what you are looking for and what you can offer to an adopted cat.

If you find a potentially suitable cat or kitten that you are interested, the foster carer will contact you to arrange a visit.

Please remember to mention if you plan to of weary within a the new few weeks, as this may affect the timing of any adoption.

Following the visit both the foster carer and you, as a potential adopter, give feedback to the homing coordinator.

If everyone is happy and you plan to adopt, the ping coordinator will send you an email outlining the process together with an information pack.

Once you have read all the information and agree to the terms and conditions, the homing coordinator will address any questions, so that the adoption can be progressed towards a satisfactory completion.

Neutering

We ask you to agree to neutering your kitten at 4-5 months old, as a condition of adoption from Cats Whiskers Rescue and may follow up with you to ensure that this has not been forgotten. Adult cats coming into the care of Cat Whiskers Rescue will be neutered prior to rehoming.

Microchipping

It is now a legal responsibility to microchip a cat by 20 weeks of age. You should not let an adopted kitten out until he/she has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped, at around 4-5 months of age.

All cats adopted from Cats Whiskers Rescue who are over 5 months old are microchipped and registered to Cats Whiskers. When your new cat arrives home, you will need to register a change of ownership and address with the relevant microchip database.

Vaccination

All adult cats adopted from Cat Whiskers Rescue will have received at least one vaccination, unless otherwise advised. It is your responsibility to get your kitten/s vaccinated, the usual practice being one at around 9 weeks of age followed by a second at around 12 weeks of age. Thereafter, annual boosters are essential to maintain your cat’s protection against serious diseases.

Insurance

Following the completion of the adoption process, Cats Whiskers Rescue will provide 5 weeks free pet insurance for each cat or kitten adopted.

Donations

The minimum requested donation is £80. This helps contribute towards the costs of caring for the cats that come into our care. Cats Whiskers Rescue operates purely through donations and volunteers.

Thanks you for supporting Cats Whiskers Rescue.
